Are General Medical Exams Valid?

This medical exam video basically says the same thing
We say when we have Car problems. If you have a
mechanical problem, you take the car in immediately.
 If the problem
does not show up again while the mechanic is
looking at it, he
usually cannot find the problem.
I think human bodies work the same way to some
degree.
If you have a yearly General medical checkup, the
checkup may not show any problems unless
you have a specific test for that disease, and
then again if there are no symptoms present, it
could go unnoticed.
How many people do we
know who go in for health exams and die anyway
because the doctors never saw it coming?

Value of Medical Checkups Doubted

General medical checkups for healthy
adults may not be as beneficial as
people tend to think, according to
new a study, raising questions about
whether spending on preventive
 services should be more focused
on tests shown to be effective.
The paper is believed to be the first
 large review of existing studies
to conclude that general health
 checks—the sort of screening
done in typical annual physicals
—don't affect rates of death and
 disease. It was published Tuesday
 by the Cochrane Collaboration,
a U.K.-based nonprofit that
conducts reviews to help providers
and patients make health-care decisions.
