Keeping Healthy

Laughter, happiness, optimism, stress, depression,
sadness and pessimism are contributing factors
to your health by way of your brain.

My husband is reading a book,
" Invasion of the Prostate Snatchers: No More
Unnecessary Biopsies, Radical Treatment or
Loss of Sexual Potency by Mark Scholz M.D.
(Author), Ralph Blum (Author)

The book is mainly about preventing prostate surgery
by regulating PSA readings through diet and stress,
but the general information throughout the book is how
to stay healthy enough to avoid all Cancer.

Some of the reviews of the book at Amazon, said to keep an
open mind and don't ignore the signs to have
surgery when you really need it.

As a woman, glancing through the last few chapters,
refreshing my memory on how to continue to stay healthy;
and remembering my husband's words to me years ago,
"You have more balls than I have,"
I have, yet, to get prostate cancer.

Two stories that I read that jumped out at me:
One man described in the book had a high
PSA reading and was trying to avoid prostate surgery.
He became depressed with thoughts of dying and
of not wanting to live with the pain and stress.
When his young son came to his room and cuddled
with him, those feelings of having his young son with him
gave him back his desire to live, and his PSA
reading went down 50%.

Years ago, I had heard that the brain effects the
well being of our entire body.  I heard about a man
in the hospital with a terminal illness.
He started watching comedy shows all day long.
He laughed every day, until he got better.

Remember that the closest and most available health
benefit you have, for keeping well, is laughter
and positive feelings; and that
the brain is leaked to your immune system.
When you are in good spirits, the brain conveys that to
your immune system that will fight off the disease in your body.
And Pray.
How Your Immune System Works..
"..When something dies, its immune system
(along with everything else) shuts down.
In a matter of hours, the body is invaded
by all sorts of bacteria, microbes, parasites...
None of these things are able to get in when
your immune system is working, but the
moment your immune system stops the
door is wide open. Once you die it only
takes a few weeks for these organisms
to completely dismantle your body and
carry it away, until all that's left is a
skeleton. Obviously your immune
system is doing something amazing
to keep all of that dismantling from
happening when you are alive..."
